Scholarship Program

Health Strategies believes that wellness and fitness activities should be part of everyone's regimen.  Because some members of the community may not be able to afford regular membership rates, the center offers a limited number of discounted memberships through a Scholarship Program.  Based on annual income, memberships are discounted at 75%, 50% and 25% off the regular membership rates.

Who is eligible for the Scholarship?  An older adult on a fixed income, a single parent in need of assistance, a family in transition - anyone who cannot afford the regular rates of the fitness center.

How is the Scholarship discount determined?  The Scholarship discount is based on a sliding scale and takes into consideration annual income and family size.

How long does it take to find out if I am eligible?  After you complete the application and provide proof of income, the Executive Director will make a determination and notify you within ten working days.  If you are approved, you may pick up your membership card at the Business Office during your first visit.

Who will know that I am in the Scholarship Program?  Only you and the Executive Director will know that you are in the Scholarship Program. You will have the same membership privileges as regular members.

Are there any additional costs?  Some services at the center are available at an additional fee, such as childcare and speciality classes.  You may have to pay all or a portion of these fees.

How do I enroll?  Simply complete the Scholarship Program application, attach proof of annual income and return the application to the fitness center.
